A fugitive on the run from Florida was arrested Tuesday morning by a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper investigating a car crash in Loudon County.

According to a Tennessee Department of Safety press release, Lola M. Pennington, 24, was taken into custody following a two-vehicle crash.  Tennessee State Trooper Carey Hixon responded to the Highway 444 crash at approximately 9 a.m.

During his investigation of the car wreck,Trooper Hixon discovered that Pennington, one of the drivers involved, was wanted in Osceola County on larceny and grand theft charges.

Pennington was treated at a local hospital and was arrested after she was released.

She is currently being held in the Loudon County jail and will reportedly be  extradited to Florida.
