Loudon looking for an upset

Coming off their first win of the season, the Loudon Redskins had little time to celebrate with CAK coming to town Friday.

"It all starts with their quarterback and their ability to protect him," Loudon coach Jeff Harig said of the matchup. "We've watched three games and I've not seem him sacked.

"Their offensive line does an outstanding job, first of all," he said. "Then their ability to get kids open and get rid of that ball quick is what makes them so hard to defense."

Charlie High is the quarterback at CAK, and is considered by some to be the best in the greater Knoxville area.

For Loudon to come away with an upset victory Friday night, the Redskins must keep High off the field.

"Our best defense this week will be our ability to run," Harig said. "If you can have success in the run against them to keep their offense off the field, you're going to have a chance."

Loudon ran the ball exceptionally well in last week's win over McMinn Central, going for over 200 yards on the ground.

"They always present a challenge against us. They always play us well," CAK coach Rusty Bradley said. "We're going to have to stop the run and not let them have long drives that chew up the clock."
Loudon's running game should get a boost from the return from injury of sophomore Josh Jackson, who ran the ball well in the preseason.

CAK has scored 191 points through four games, but has allowed 121.

Loudon is coming of its best offensive outing this season with a 48-21 thrashing of the Chargers after reinserting Trent Elliott into the starting quarterback position.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday at Loudon.
