Scott County looked strong early, but the Loudon Redskins kept their winning streak alive with a 20-7 win at Scott County Friday night.

The Highlanders took the ball to start the game and ended up possessing it for nearly 10 of the 12 minutes in the opening quarter.  That successful ball control offense led to Scott County holding a 7-0 lead as the first quarter ended, with the touchdown coming on a 13-yard pass from Jacob Sexton to Ryan Sauls.

The Loudon offense, conversely, struggled throughout the opening half as Jake Brown fumbled on Loudon's first possession of the game and the second ended early in the second quarter after quarterback Wade Plemons lost yards on three straight plays.

However, on the first play of the ensuing drive for Scott County, Hunter Henry coughed up the ball and Matthew Wallace scooped it up for the Redskins and dashed 20 yards for a touchdown.  After an offsides penalty on the hosts put the ball at the one yard line, Loudon Head Coach Jeff Harig chose to go for two.  The conversion failed, however, as the run was stopped short and the Redskins still trailed 7-6 with 8:52 left in the half.

Neither team found the end zone again in the first half, sending both teams into the break with the Highlanders still clinging to the one-point lead.
The teams were even through the first quarter, as the Redskins finished the opening half with 83 yards of total offense and the Highlanders finished with 95 yards of total offense.

Loudon took control early in the second half, putting to rest quickly the questions surrounding their winning streak.
Wallace carried the ball six of the seven plays to open the half, but it was Plemons racing in from 18 yards out to give Loudon the lead with 8:12 left in the third.  K.C. Rader's point after missed, however, leaving the Redskins lead at 12-7.

Scott County attempted a pair of fake punts in the third quarter, though neither worked and the Loudon defense kept the Highlanders out of the end zone.
The Redskins nearly took the lead on their possession following the Highlanders' second faked punt, but a trick play went awry.

The Redskins drove 40 yards before attempting a halfback pass by Wallace.  However, the toss from Plemons to Wallace was ruled to be a forward pass, thus making Wallace's pass down the field ineligible.  The result of the play was a loss of down and the Highlanders took possession.
They didn't keep it long, however, as the Loudon defense forced a three-and-out, setting up the cementing touchdown for the visitors.

With 2:20 left in the game, the Redskins moved the ball 36 yards in three plays with Plemons darting in from 16 yards out to score with 1:44 left in the game.  Plemons connected with Josh Berry in the end zone for the conversion, sealing the final score.

The Redskins (6-2, 2-2) won their fourth consecutive game after dropping a pair to Alcoa and CAK in September with two near-must win games remaining to have a shot at a wild card berth.

They'll return to action Friday night when they travel to Sequoyah.  Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
