The Lenoir City Panthers (1-6, 0-4) will face yet another tough challenge Friday night when they travel to William Blount for their final road trip of the season.
The Panthers have had some strong games the past few weeks, but haven't been able to record a win since shutting out Sequoyah Sept. 11. They'll take on a Governors team that is currently 3-4 overall with a 1-3 conference record. William Blount has defeated Karns 35-34, Jefferson County 38-35 and Heritage 16-7 so far this season.
Their losses have come against Sevier County 31-14, Bearden 24-10, Catholic 24-6 and West 28-26. The Panthers are coming off a 28-0 loss to Knoxville West that followed a pair of competitive games against Kingston and Catholic.
William Blount is the fifth District 4(3A) opponent Lenoir City has faced this season and it only gets tougher as the Panthers will face off with Farragut and Maryville in the next two weeks. The Panthers haven't faced the Governors in the past eight seasons. Lenoir City is still seeking its first district win since before the last realignment.
Game time Friday is set for 7:30 p.m. at William Blount.
