Gerald Raymond Ludwig, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013 at his home in Loudon. Gerald was born Jan. 31, 1939 to Daniel Fredric and Ruth Viola (Bunce) Ludwig in Detroit, Mich., the oldest of four children. He graduated from Wilbur Wright High School in Detroit in 1956.

Gerald served in the Air Force from 1957 through 1961. He met his beautiful bride, Sandra Lynn Katchor in 1959 and married June 2, 1962 in Detroit.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughter, Michelle (Ludwig) Patel; son Kevin Ludwig; grandchildren, Eric, Adam, Ryan, Mackenzie and Madison; brothers, Russell and Norman; Son and daughters-in-law Monique Ludwig and Mitul Patel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dennis Ludwig.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Lenoir City with Father Christian Mathis officiating. The family greeted friends from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Lenoir City,  Tennessee.
