Shirley L. Cochran

Shirley L. Cochran, 82, Tellico Village community, Loudon, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013. She was born in Decatur, Ill., Nov. 6, 1930. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She loved the RV lifestyle and traveling with the Tellico Roadrunners RV Club. Shirley enjoyed golfing with her husband and enjoying the mountains and all the area had to offer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Bertha Stone Coleman; and her brother, Cecil Eugene Coleman.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ben Cochran; her three children: Dianne Renner and husband, John of Decatur, Ill., Mark Cochran of Murfreesboro, Ill., and Paul Cochran and partner, John Keebler of Madison, Wis.; five grandchildren, Amy Beals, Corrie Cool, Todd Sheets, Jeannine Cochran and Nathan Cochran; five great-grandchildren, Haley and Mason Beals, Tyler and Natalie Cool, Aria Sheets.

The family would like to acknowledge the support and care given by their friends and neighbors as Shirley’s Alzheimer’s disease progressed. Also the care and compassion shown by the doctors and staffs at Ft. Loudoun Medical Center, Summitview Nursing Home, particularly the physical therapist who tried so hard to help her walk again, and caregiver Melody Shaver.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16 at the Click Funeral Home and Cremations Tellico Chapel. The family received friends immediately following the service.
