Betty Shell Ingram, 85, Lenoir City, formerly of Athens, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012.
Betty was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She retired from the Department of Human Services in 1989 where she served as regional and county director.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ford and Layton Shell and an infant brother.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Thomas F. Ingram; daughter, Debby Ingram; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and DeAnn Ingram and granddaughter, Courtney Ingram, all of Lenoir City.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Betty's caregivers, Amber Jones, Tahisha Jones, Stephanie Shell, Debbie Shell and the staff of Lakewood Place.
A celebration of life was held from 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 at Central United Methodist Church in Lenoir City. A private graveside service was held in the Lenoir City Cemetery with the Rev. Micah Nicolaus. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 301 Hickory Creek Road, Lenoir City, TN 37771.
