Katherine Sarah Housley, 86, Lenoir City, went to celebrate her birthday with her savior, Saturday morning, Sept. 8, 2012.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Katherine was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She loved being a mother, quilting and listening to gospel music. Katherine dedicated her life to her children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Housley Sr. and daughter, Nora Ann Housley.

She is survived by her sons, John Larry Housley Sr. and wife, Lynn, Harry Dean Housley and wife, Karen, Terry Lee Housley and wife, Cherie; daughters, Mary Seay and husband, R.L., Helen Wright and husband, Carl, Wanda Butler and husband, Billy, Cynthia Rogers and husband, Charlie, Diane Harris and husband, Randy, Debbie Hickman and husband, Danny, Carla Wiggins and husband, Junior; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

A special thanks to her granddaughter/caretaker, Kristie for all her loving care and dedication shown for the past three years and daughters-in-law, Karen, Cherie and Lynn, who she loved. Also special thanks to caretakers, Dawn and Anna.

The family received friends 5-7 p.m. Monday at Grace Baptist Church. A celebration of life followed at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Jeff Waldrop and the Rev. Arlin Gurley officiating. Family and friends gathered at the funeral home by 10:30 Tuesday morning and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for 11 a.m. graveside services.
