Geraldine Gibson Norwood, 74, Lenoir City, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she and her late husband, Avery Lenoir Norwood, started a library there. Gerry loved her cat, Sugar, and enjoyed friends and family dropping by. The family would like to especially thank the special ladies that took care of her, Tammy Morgan, Wanda Shubert, Leslie Key, Doris Brown and Mary Parris. We can't say enough about the love they have shown and the excellent care that they gave her throughout her sickness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Avery Lenoir Norwood; parents, William Edward and Pauline Gibson; and brothers, Larry and Donald Gibson of Crossville.
She leaves behind her sister, June Gibson Wicks and husband, Donald Wicks, of Rockwood; brother-in-law and caregiver, Joe A. Norwood and wife, LaGonda Norwood; sisters-in-law, Beverly Norwood Gamble of Georgia, Judy Gibson and Shirley Gibson of Crossville; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The family received friends 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Family and friends then proceeded to the Lenoir Cemetery on First Avenue and C Street in Lenoir City for graveside services with the Rev. Kim Isley officiating.
