Walter Kenneth Fulbright, 89, was born Sept. 22, 1924, and passed peacefully surrounded by his children to the larger life on Oct. 1, 2013. Born and reared in Missouri, at age 17 Kenneth entered the Navy during World War II and served in both the Mediterranean and Pacific campaigns. He was married to Mary Lee Morman for 57 years. In 1955, he moved to Tennessee to work at Y-12 and lived in Kingston. They had three children, Stephen and wife Susan, Valerie and husband Mark and Hazel. The last 35 years he lived on his farm in Lenoir City. He was a life-long Methodist and attended the United Methodist Church in Lenoir City.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur and William; his wife, Mary Lee; and grandson, Robert.
He is survived by his sister, Valle Montgomery; brother, James Clifford Fulbright; his children; grandchildren, Matthew Fulbright, Diana Discher, Michael Hutchins and Christina Shepherd; three great-grandchildren, Dakota Cox, Camdyn Stewart and Quinci Fulbright; and special friend of the family, Barbara Lahaun.
