James Allen Ward Jr., 62, Loudon, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at his home surrounded by the love of his family after a long illness. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired boilermaker of 35 years. He was a U.S. Marines veteran serving in Vietnam. James enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing, farming and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Birdie (Tincey) Ward; and grandparents, Jess (Shod) McCulloch and Blanche McCulloch.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Natasha Mott Ward; daughters, Teena Barber and Kevin of Sevierville, Alicia Mace of Knoxville; grandchildren, Christian Worley, Cameron Mace and Ava Barber; sister, Dorothy Hunt and Jim of Loudon; and brother, Gideon Ward of Wartburg.
Funeral services were held 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Loudon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Thornburg officiating. Visitation was held 3-5 p.m. Saturday. Loudon Funeral Home. www. loudonfuneralhome.net
