Ethel Lucille (Russell) Lane, 92, Loudon, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013. She was a loving Christian mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed singing, teaching Sunday school to the children at Bethel United Methodist Church where she worshipped many years, talking with members of the Piney Community on the phone and spending time with her family and friends. She retired from Loudon County Schools after many years working in the cafeteria at Steekee Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Lula (Lynn) Russell; husband, Roy E. Lane; sister, Irene Williams; and brothers, V.L. "Feebee" Russell and Glenn "Hamp" Russell. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Becky Lane, Larry and Jane Lane, all of Loudon, Jake Lane of Manchester; grandchildren and spouses, Whitney and Jerry Cardin, Alison and Chad Dotson, Chad and Marcie Lane, Casey and JoAnne Lane, Isaac Lane, Micah and Adam Seadorf; 13 great-grandchildren and brother and sister-in-law, Charles "Rusty" and Bethel Russell; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of River Oaks Place, Cindy Bales and Caris Healthcare for their loving care over the past years. Services honoring and remembering Lucille Lane were held 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at McGill-Karnes Chapel with Rev. Richard Lane and Chase Lane officiating.
