Scott Edward Long, 75, Lenoir City, passed away Friday, June 14, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. Scott farmed all his life and was a mail carrier with the Lenoir City Post Office for 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ella Sue Thompson Long; brother, Wayne Long and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alex and Myrtle Whitaker. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Aileen Long; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Sharon Long; daughters, Beth Long Merritt, all of Lenoir City and Cheryl Long Weaver of Louisville; grandson, Nathan Long of Lenoir City; sisters-in-law, Ruth Whitaker of Louisville and Pat Whitaker of Lenoir City; special cousins, Hope Dotson and Marion Stinnett; several nieces and nephews; good friend, John Davis and best pal, Jed.
The family received friends from 5-7 p.m Monday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. with Rev. Jimmy Guider officiating.
