Ishom Duncan, 84, of Highland Ave., Loudon, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013, at Parkwest Medical Center. Ishom was retired from Maremont Corp., and had served 23 years in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, Korea and Vietnam wars. He was born in Harlan County, Ky.
He was preceded in death by a son, Herman Duncan; parents, John and Cora Davenport Duncan; and a brother, William Duncan.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frankie Girdner Duncan; children and spouses, Juanita and Jim Best, Johnny Duncan, Norman Duncan, James and Leigh Ann Duncan, Frank and Tiny Duncan of Loudon, and Charles Duncan of Lenoir City; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings and spouses, Demps and Brenda Duncan, Thelma Jean Goodin of Kentucky, Daniel and Alice Duncan, Faye and Walter Valentine of Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the Loudon Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Greg Jameson and Taylor Duncan officiating. Interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery with military honors by Loudon County Honor Guard. Visitation was held 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Loudon Funeral Home. www.loudonfuneralhome.net
