Anita Greene passed away suddenly on Feb. 12, 2013. She was born March 4, 1922 to Walter B. and Hilda P. Nelson of La Jolla, Calif.

She was married Nov. 29, 1946 for 48 years to Vernell L. Greene Sr. until his passing Dec. 30, 1994 in Houston, Texas, where she resided until moving to Knoxville in 1997, then moving to San Diego in 2002.

The three loves of her life were her family, pets and flower gardens.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Walter and Hilda Nelson; husband, Vernell Sr.; daughter, Cheryl and son, Vernell II.

She is survived by her brother, Walter Jr.; cousin, Beverly; son, Cris; daughter, Vivian; grandchildren, Candace, Richard, Allison, Dana, Becki, Eric, Steven, Andrew and Trevor; step-grandson, Cody; step-granddaughter, Trisha and 10 great-grandchildren.
