Frank Harrison Thurmer, 87, Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 at his home. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He retired from Carrier.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Rachel Jenkins Thurmer and Joyce Ballew Thurmer; parents, Frank and Julia Thurmer; sisters, Viola Holloway and Bessie Smith, and brothers, Charles Thurmer and John Kirby.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Tom Lewis; grandchildren, Chris and Aaron Lewis; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret and J. C. Pellom.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Family and friends gathered at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Martel Methodist Church Cemetery for graveside services with the Rev. Phillip Martin officiating. Full military honors were conferred by the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard.
