Neil Eric Brehob

Neil Eric Brehob, 51, of Brownsburg, Ind., passed away Dec. 21, 2012 in Halls at the Tennova Residential Hospice, losing his three-year battle with a malignant brain tumor, but not before achieving his number one goal of seeing his son, Eric, successfully graduate from high school and enroll at his granddad's alma mater, Purdue University.
Neil was born in Indianapolis, on May 9, 1961, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. He moved with his parents at the age of three to Chelsea, Mich., and after high school returned to Indianapolis where, with the help of his uncle, he began his career in commercial HVAC equipment installation and service.
Neil was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Brehob, in 2001.
He is survived by his son, Eric Brehob, of Brownsburg of Ind.; father and step-mother, Norman and Linda Brehob of Tellico Village; brother, Paul Brehob and wife, Jamie of Lancing, Mich.; grandmother, Elizabeth Brehob of Indianapolis; step-brother, Shane Whitten and Misty of Loudon; three step-sisters, Alisa Baker and husband Brian of Knoxville, Susan McMahan and husband, Luke of Maryville, Renee' Whitten and Issiah of Knoxville; uncle, Wayne Brehob and wife, Marie, of Dearborn, Mich.; aunt, Karen Fuller and husband, Don Shutt of Carmel, Ind; aunt, Patricia Martin of Atlanta; three step-nieces; one step-nephew; and numerous cousins.
Shortly before his death Neil talked of seeing the bright light. Now he has walked into that light; all who knew and loved him will miss Neil. Visitation was held Saturday, Dec 29, 2012 beginning at 11 a.m. at the G.H. Herrmann Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, in Indianapolis, with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. A brief graveside service took place afterward at Concordia Cemetery, Indianapolis.
