The Rev. Gerrald D. Bland, 84, Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012 at Ben Atchley Veterans Home. Gerrald was a veteran of the U. S. Army and National Guard Reserves. He was a retired Baptist minister serving at many churches throughout Tennessee. Gerrald was an avid gardener. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Laura Bland. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kate Bowery Bland; children, Kay Vespie and husband Wayne of Madisonville, Ky., and Lynn Bland of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Megan Bland, Katie Vespie and Julie Shelton; great-grandchildren, Beckett Shelton and Emmaline Vespie. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Jeff Bowden officiating. Family and friends gathered at the funeral home by 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for graveside services at noon.
