Joyce “Jo” Shubert Conner Simmons, 73, Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012.
She was a member of First Baptist Church Lenoir City where she served in the nursery for 20 or more years. Jo was a former member of Beta Sigma Phi and Pilot Club of Lenoir City.
She was a loving wife, mother and Mimi.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Conner; parents, McDonald and Frances Shubert, and brother, Jimmy Shubert.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Simmons; son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Marlene Conner, of Loudon; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Howard Cusick, of Lenoir City; grandsons, Josh Conner and wife, Diana, Ty Cusick and wife, Rachel, Bryce Cusick and wife, Chelsea; great-grandchildren, Beckett Cusick and Braylon Cusick; step-children, Angela Miller and Alex Day Bryan Simmons and wife, Angela, Adam Simmons and wife, Dorothy; step-grandchildren, Chandler Miller, Brooklyn Simmons and Bryson Simmons; mother-in-law, Frances Conner; brother-in-law, Eddie Conner; several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 5-7p.m. Tuesday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Jim Clayton officiating. Family and friends gathered at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and proceeded to Lakeview Cemetery for graveside services at 11 a.m.
