Cordie “C.W.” Willice Holland Jr., 87, of Lenoir City,
passed away on Dec. 7, 2012. C.W. was a member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir City where he has
served as a deacon and children's Sunday School teacher for many years. He retired from ORNL
after 36 years of service. A familiar sight to many of us was C.W. in his wide-brimmed hat,
sitting on his tractor as he enjoyed farming along Martel Road.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, Cordie Willice Holland Sr. and Sadie Kerr Holland; siblings, Christine Hill and Doris
Grantham. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Hardin Holland; children, Richard
Holland and wife, Phyllis, Sarah Shaver and husband, Van, all of Lenoir City and Lee Anne Spires
and husband, Preston of El Dorado, Ark.; grandchildren, Austin Shaver and wife Brittany of
Hendersonville, Evan Shaver of Knoxville and Amaris Hawkins and husband Curtis of Moline, Kan.,
step-grandson, George McDougall; great grandchildren, Caleb and Abby Shaver; siblings, Sue Ella
Gowen, Elizabeth Grisham (Bill), Mildred Buffalo (Bill), Harley Holland (Geneva) and Dan Holland
(Mary Nell); sister-in-law, Margie Sartin (Jackie) and Beverly Hardin; and many nieces, nephews
and cousins.
The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at Click
Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. Family and friends gathered at 11
a.m. on Monday at the Lakeview Cemetery for graveside services and interment. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Lenoir City for the Building Fund. Click Funeral
