Jackson “Jay” William Glass, 82, of Lenoir City, passed
away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at 6 a.m. at Fort Loudoun Medical Center. He was a member of Bell Avenue
Baptist Church. He has been a Bible teacher since 1954. Jay started churches in Indiana for 12
years. He was an Army engineer 1951-54. Jay was retired from Lenoir City Middle School.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, William and Kate Glass, and brother, Douglas Glass.
Survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Jane Smith Glass; son and daughter-in-law, Joel and
Sharon Glass; grandson, Conner Jackson Glass; granddaughter, Sydney Madison Glass, all of Lenoir
City; step grandson, Andrew Clinton; sisters, Diane Williams of Lenoir City, Jean Ogle and husband,
Leonard of Knoxville; cousin, Dwana Vance of Lenoir City; several nieces and nephews.
The
family would like to express a special thanks to J.D. Watkins for his kindness. The family will
receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will
follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. George Seay officiating. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m.
