Bessie Irene Smith, 90, Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Smith; parents, Frank Thurmer and Julia Thurmer Kirby; brothers, Charles Thurmer and John Kirby; and sister, Viola Holloway.

She is survived by her daughter, Kate Schwartzkopf; sons, Sam, Bill and Frank Sellers; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two  great-great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Thurmer; several nieces and nephews.
