Daniel "Danny" Summers, 46, Greenback, passed away suddenly Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012. He was a 1984 graduate of Lenoir City High School. Danny was a member of Axley's Chapel United Methodist Church and Millwright Union Local 1554.

He formerly served in the Air National Guard.

He is survived by his children, Laura Gail Summers, of Knoxville, Katelyn Summers, of Johnson City, Daniel and Haley Summers, of the home; parents, Burl and Joan Summers, of Greenback; brother, Russell Holland and wife Sue, of Concord, N.C.; sister, Kim Byard and husband Tony, of Loudon; many nieces and nephews, and mother of his children, Misty Summers, of Lenoir City.

The family received friends from 11-12:30 Saturday at the Axley's Chapel United Methodist Church. A celebration of life followed at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Rich Carnes officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Tennessee Children's Hospital, or Axley's Chapel United Methodist Church .
