Shirley E. Fox, Lenoir City, went on to her home with the Lord on Oct. 2, 2012. Shirley was a wife, mother, grandmother and a great friend to so many. She worked as a seamstress with Goodwill Industries, volunteered with the American Red Cross and even as a bail bondsman. With all of that, Shirley always made time for those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bessie Hester Brogdon; mother-in-law, Hazel Euvella Fox; and sister-in-law, Linda Faye Fox.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, James E. Fox; son, Rodney L. Cathey and wife, Jamie Bry Cathey; grandson, Riley L. Cathey; step-grandson, Tristen Brynt Jones; sisters, Jo Ann Wright and husband, Brad, Judy Griffith of East Ridge and Barbara Gibson and husband, Robert of Meigs County; brother-in-law, Wayne Fox and wife, Linda; father-in-law, Austell "Pap" Fox; several nieces, nephews and cousins including special cousins, Audrey Hester and Linda McKee; and a great many special friends from camping.
The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Rick Kirkland officiating. Family and friends gathered at the funeral home by 9:30 Saturday morning and proceeded to Loudon County Memorial Gardens for graveside services at 10 a.m. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
