Wilma Ruth Monger Copenhaver, 89, Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012. Wilma was born Dec. 23, 1922, the youngest child of William and Effie (Grammar) Monger. Her siblings included, Dan (Clora) Monger, Jack (Elsie) Monger, Raymond (Virgie) Monger, Hugh (Virgie) Monger, Dora (Henry) Alford, Lou (Joe) Crittenden, Margaret (Lawrence) Hill and Fannie Monger.
Wilma married Oden Neff Copenhaver in November of 1941, and was a homemaker until Oden's death Feb. 23, 2001. She was a faithful member of Oral Baptist Church where she taught the nursery Sunday school class for many years.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, O.N. Copenhaver; her parents and all of her siblings; sons-in-law, Charles F. Williams and Jerry P. Jenkins; and great-grandson, Johnathan Thomas.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Ann Williams Jenkins, Charlotte Tinch and husband, Jerry G. Tinch; grandchildren, Denise (Jim) Bowden, Charlsie (Jeff) Roach, Bobby Thomas, Chris (Pete) Codispoti, Mickel Thomas, Brian (Amie) Thomas, Eric (Sandy) Thomas, Judy (Chris) Young; great-grandchildren, Ashley (Justin) Hill, Matthew Neff Bowden, Jonathan and Mackenzie Roach, Natalie (Sammy) Goodyear, Mika (Jason) Brown, John Thomas, Andrea Deal, Sean, Megan and MacKenzie Thomas, Brant (Katie), Stephen, Jessica Thomas, Brittany and Stephanie Young; great-great grandchildren, Reagan Ann Hill, Gabrielle and Eliana Malone, Talia, Dominic, Kaiden and Ethan Goodyear; sisters-in-law, Virgie S. Monger and Elsie B. Monger; special niece, Alice C. Coley and several other nieces and nephews; special friends and neighbors, Boyd and Sue Williams.
The family received friends from 6-7:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6 at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City.
Funeral services followed at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Tapp officiating. Family and friends gathered at the funeral home at 10:30 Friday morning and proceeded to Loudon County Memorial Gardens for graveside services at 11 a.m. Wilma's nephews served as pallbearers: Horace, Glen, Kenny, Jerry, and Ralph Monger and Bill Crittenden.
